# Building A Decentralized Financial Transformation Hub

## **Introduction to DeFi**

DeFi refers to financial applications operating on blockchain technology, allowing users to access financial services without going through traditional intermediaries such as banks or financial companies. Some popular DeFi services today include lending, savings, crypto trading, insurance, asset management, crowdfunding, etc.

The outstanding advantages of DeFi are transparency, safety, and cost efficiency thanks to being fully automated based on smart contracts. Users have full ownership and control over their assets.
